- Five-Counties
Clean-up fish passage assessment
Funded by CDFG’s SB-271 fisheries restoration program. The primary
objective is to complete stream crossing assessments in Humboldt, Del
Norte, and Mendocino counties that were missed during the initial assessments.
As of October 2004; site visits were conducted at 104 stream crossings
and passage assessments were completed for 37 crossings with culverts.

Consulting Fisheries Biologist
Duties include: assistance with development of state and federal permits
for culvert replacement projects, conduct fish relocation and water
management activities for culvert replacement projects, post-project
biological and geomorphic monitoring of completed fish passage improvement
projects, review of Five-Counties Roads Operation Manual, and represent
the Five-Counties at the Resource Agency’s Statewide Fish Passage
Forum meetings.
- Klamath
Task Force-Technical Work Group (TWG)
Mr. Taylor has been Humboldt County’s representative on the TWG
since 1998 and has been contracted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
(USFWS) to provide technical writing services to the TWG since 2000.
The TWG provides technical advice to the Klamath Task Force and annually
reviews and ranks proposals for funding through the USFWS-Yreka office.

Mono Basin Fisheries Project.
Since 1997, Mr. Taylor has participated in snorkel and electrofishing
surveys for brown trout (Salmo trutta) in Mono Lake tributaries
as part of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s long-term
settlement agreement to restore the Mono Lake Basin. Mr. Taylor also
assists in data analysis and drafting of annual reports.
